Cheryl Craig, RD, CDE
I have been a Registered Dietitian since 1991 and received my Certified Diabetes Educator credential in 2018. My many years of practice include experience in acute care, skilled nursing, home health, hospice, eating disorders treatment, outpatient diabetes clinic, private practice and digital health coach for an online diabetes prevention program.
Eating Disorders: I began working with eating disordered clients in 2006 and have worked at all levels of care including inpatient, residential, day treatment, intensive outpatient, individually and in groups, and through my private practice. My passion lies in helping clients reestablish a positive relationship with food, weight and body image through nutrition therapy and compassionate support. I ultimately guide my clients towards eating intuitively when appropriate for their recovery process. The choice of lotus flower for my website symbolizes the hope of recovery as it reflects beauty and light blossoming from what was once a murky darkness of eating disordered behaviors.
Nutrition Education: I offer nutrition education for weight management, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. My treatment philosophy for diabetes is to promote moderate carbohydrate intake with balanced and sustainable healthy eating and lifestyle.
Plant Based Nutrition: I have a personal interest in and passion for plant based, vegetarian and vegan nutrition. I provide education and support for those wishing to move toward plant based eating and on to becoming vegetarian or vegan as desired.
